Roto Brush tool
Today in class we did rotoscoping on a walk footage.Create a new Project and import the Walk footage, because it's very long I cut it to 3 seconds. Then I duplicated the layer. Afterwards I picked the Roto Brush tool and double click in footage. To get the grey line under the screen I clicked on the Roto Brush again and clicked into the picture. I draged the grey line to my 3 seconds and started to mark the person in the footage. To make the brush larger or smaller hold ctrl and drag mouse. With pressed alt and mouse click you minus the mask.
Then go frame by frame to control that the mask is sticking to the person, if not correct it with plus and minus.
To put the graffiti in I put the png of it between the 2 Walk layers. At the moment it looks out of place to make it a 3D object I converted it to one with a tick on the 3D box. The 3D box just apears when you press Toggle Switches/Modes. Now it can be rotated to stick on the wall. Because it looks so bright I changed the Mode from Normal to Soft Light.
Refine Brush tool
To get more details in the mask, for example for the hair, I used the Refine Brush tool. In the Layer of the Walk I drag a line over the pink line of the mask, just where I want more details. Now I can go frame by frame to check if I'm satisfy by the look of it. You can see the graffiti through his hair.
