Kelvin
Kelvin is a unit of measurement of light. So for an example is 5000 K and over a very cold color temperature because in our eyes it look a bit bluish. And the lower temperature of 2700 to 3000 K is a warm light, cause it looks more yellow. So it always depends on what kind of look you wanna archive and chose the Kelvin appropriate to it
C-stands
A C-stand is a very useful equipment to have on a set. On this picture, it is shown how it looks when you set it up. The handles have to be on the right so gravity works for you and not against. The C-stand is mostly next to the lamp and with it, you can modify the light. You have various things to put on it, like flags, nets, and silks.
Nets are to diffuse the light and make it softer. And the flag is to cast shadows or protect for a lens flare. They are a light fabric in black, a bit like in the picture.
Thank you, Rebekka!
