BSA131 Week eight - Camera and light

In class, we all had our chance to set up the Black Magic Cinema Camera and change some settings and see the difference between the two lenses. After that, we set up a ring light and take some pictures of people sitting in front of it. The nearer the person was to the light the better they looked. The middle is open so you can point the camera through there. Like that you have the best results.

The difference between parfocal and varifocal lenses

Parafocal lense
With a parafocal lens you can zoom in and pull the focus and zoom out of it and the same spot will still be in focus. It doesn't change its focus.

With a varifocal lens, the focus will change every time when you zoom out or in.

This difference is explained through the different settings of the lenses. The parfocal lens has an extra group of lenses to pull the focus is with. The other lens doesn't have this option when you change the zoom you will automatically lose your focus.
